Celebrities own, or have owned, homes here but though this small hamlet is more low-key, it’s no less special than the neighboring Hamptons villages. Settled in the mid-17th century, it is Long Island’s only community with a functional, working water mill and a windmill. It also has several restaurants on the block-long Main Street, a winery, the Parrish Art Museum, which recently relocated here, and some lovely farms and garden centers.
